Open Al Crafts Your Guru For Ultimate Answers

Open Al Crafts Your Guru For Ultimate Answers

From the books of Speaking Tree

I have often felt that a common person's quality of life today is better than what any emperor had in the past. A common person today has access to potable water, has cures for numerous infectious diseases and is not constantly worried about war, natural disasters, or famine. However, one luxury that the kings and emperors of the past had was the ability to assemble a court of brilliant minds and engage with them on any topic, to learn, to grow or to simply satisfy their curiosity. As technology has advanced so much, it makes one wonder whether we have arrived at a point where we all can have our own personalised gurus. Can everyone today have a personalised, 24-hour-on-demand Krishn, Vashisht, or an Ashtavakra?

While the internet makes much of the world's information accessible, it feels like a library that you have to browse through versus having an expert share wisdom that is personalised for you, when you want. ChatGPT, on the other hand, has essentially reimagined how people can interact with all the knowledge in the world, but it is generic as it is trained on a broad corpus and not fine-tuned for you.

However, two recent technological advancements by Open Al can make it possible to build your own personal guru, in fact, to have two dozens of them, like Sage Dattatreya once had. The first capability that Open Al rolled out on its developer day on November 6, 2023, was the ability to create your own GPT. With just a few prompts, you can create your own GPT,give it a persona, fine-tune the corpus of information it uses to answer, customise the answering style and also upload files that it can add to its knowledge. So, for instance, you can ask GPT to answer spiritual questions by earnest seekers, drawing from the Bhagwad Gita, Ashtavakra Gita and perhaps the tea- chings of a recent sage like Ramana Maharshi. You can

further ask it to share parables, had access to a series of ques tion-and-answer sessions with a spiritual master, you could upload those files to update the GPT's knowledge base.

The second capability that Open Al rolled out on November 21, 2023, was the launch of voice for all users. With the ChatGPT app, you can put on your headphones and get lost in hours of deep conversation with your personalised guru(s).

Wow! Who would have thought that the biggest luxury in life "having your own personal guru" would be just a few prompts away. Which brings me to the key point about technology. The Gita repeatedly advocates rising above seeing things as good or bad. When you stop seeing things, people, and events through the narrow prism of duality good or bad, you can see it for what it is. Everything in the world is there to be of service, to spread love, to help you in your evolution. Technology as it is part of everything, is there for the same reasons-all you need is to master how you wield it. And since everything includes you, that is indeed your purpose-to be of service, to spread love, to evolve and to help others evolve.

Elevate Life, Not Just Your Lifestyle

Elevate Life, Not Just Your Lifestyle

from the books of The Speaking Tree

Οne of the visible signs of success is our upgraded standard of Living. Each step up the corporate ladder brings with it an additional turbocharge of a better car ,a swankier house, father bank balance, a fancier mobile, access to expensive restaurants, more exotic holiday destinations.

A large chunk of our lives goes in the pursuit of happinness through pleasure and success, not realising that each time we repeat a particular act of pleasure, the quantum of happiness derived from it declines and each time we achieve a new milestone, the happiness derived is also short lived, leaving us craving more. This throws us headlong into the endless pursuit of happiness.

" Today standard of life has become a this synonym for standard of living Everything is viewed through the prism of pleasure and success But it fails to elevate the standard of our lives So, what is the way out?

Swami Vivekananda says it is not that you shouldn't have property necessary  things and even luxuries but never get wrong ideas about their  proprietorship and 'possessorship' .Everything belongs to the Divine. If you put God in your every movement, every thing ,the whole scene changes, and the world, instead of appearing as one of woe and misery will become a heaven .

This adjustment in our attitude can elevate the standard of our lives. But it takes a while to develop a truly god centred attitude, without the sense of being a possessor. The only way to build is by committing ourselves to a spiritual journey. By controlling the shades of selfishness, greed, Jealousy pettiness, anger, attachment in us, our higher dimension will manifest in the form of an expanded heart. Till then, it can be difficult to assimilate the true ,holistic meaning of dharma a framework of virtures ,such as nobility ,compassion, gratitude ,foregiveness, patience, and love for others. When we disregard this holistic as pect of dharma,we set ourselves up for misery and discontentment, making us slaves to our egos.

Therefore, the only solution is to tame the natural tendencies our mind to gravitate ourwards, and made it Inward directed. By controlling the mind through introspection, prayers and a service-oriented lifestyle,we can make it our friend. The Bhagwad Gita verse 6:5 states that  Elevate yourself through the power of your mind Never disregard yourself. Your mind can be your friend.Your mind can be your enemy too.

A calm and stable mind can be a pivotal force,a friend,in our commitment to raise the quality of our lives, propelling us towards being god centred. With this divinised vision, there will be a wonderful confluence of an elevated standard of life and an enchanced standard of living. The outcome can only ne one-peace and fulfilment.
